Hotel Gabriela

I was really disappointed with the service. Our table’s order was forgotten, extra items we never received appeared on the bill, and staff wouldn’t join two small tables so our group could sit together, even though the restaurant wasn’t crowded. It was -10°C, and because we were seated by a door that kept opening, we asked for a radiator. The owner wouldn’t allow it, despite our €300 spend.

The spa is extensive, and the food and service were great. There’s a wide breakfast selection, plus plenty of local dishes. Vegans and people avoiding gluten can find lots to eat. The wine list is extensive, with top European wines, premium champagne, whiskey, vodka, and brandy. And if you love cigars, you have to try some here. The pricing felt very fair for the quality. I’d give the service 4 stars: I ordered my aged tenderloin medium, but it arrived well done. The beef itself was outstanding, so I ate it. The round pan-fried potato was deep-fried instead.

The price didn’t feel justified. Between the traffic on the main road, which made it impossible to leave the windows open, the small pool, and the unappealing jacuzzi, this wasn’t a place where we could rest. The afternoons were noisy, with no sign that the hotel observed quiet hours. At night, music and microphone sessions from private parties, as well as daily weddings, disturbed guests in the rooms above the breakfast area. We won’t come back.

Really clean, in a great spot, and the service was 10-star!
