The hotel itself wasn’t that bad, but my friend and I had one of the creepiest experiences ever. I don’t believe in ghost stories, yet it scared us enough to change rooms. We went to bed around 1 am and heard loud knocking. I opened the door, but nobody was there, so we thought it might have been a kid from the hotel. Then, around 3 or 3:30 am, we both woke to a loud crash from the WC. Its door was shut even though we hadn’t closed it, because we wanted light from there. We were terrified and had no idea what to do. The door was locked, and there was no way anyone could have gotten in. We called another friend staying at the hotel for help. I got brave enough to look under the door, but there wasn’t much space and all I could see was a faint shadow. While we waited for our friend, something smashed in the WC again. We both started crying. Our friend came and got us, and we spent the rest of the night in her room. We left the next day and went straight away. Our biggest mistake was not telling anyone. Later, I read a similar review here, so I don’t know what to think.

It was built during the Yugoslav era and is one of the town’s oldest hotels, aside from a few in the city center. The name is from ex-Yugoslavia.

I went before it closed and stayed overnight to finish off the nostalgia. The hotel used to be luxurious, but time has caught up with it, and maybe that’s how it should be. Everything has its expiration date. I’ve got pictures attached. I’d give it five stars just for the memories: a graduation party, young people gathering behind the hotel in the 80s, and ZIG high school students meeting there in those same years. And a few other adventures, too.

We stayed here on a school trip. By the first evening, half our group had lost their virginity and their wallets. After we checked out, the hotel blew up. Maybe a plastic fork did it.
