Garni Hotel Le Petit Piaf

The reception ladies and the gentleman serving breakfast were attentive and very friendly, which added a lot to our few days here. Our room was a decent size and the bathroom was clean. The water pressure sometimes dropped, and the temperature shifted during showers. We didn’t mention it to the staff, and it was only a minor annoyance, not enough to lower the rating. The hotel is right in the old town, a great base for exploring Belgrade. I’d recommend it for solo travelers or couples.

You get good value here. The room was clean and the bed comfortable, and there was a minibar. It’s close to the fortress and Kalemegdan Park. The hotel is on a tourist street known for traditional nightlife, so musicians could be heard until 1am. Earplugs took care of that for me. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. Goran and Micky at reception, the attentive, polite man in the breakfast room, and manager Gojko all made a difference. Gojko promptly sorted out a problem with my reservation. It’s a simple hotel, but comfortable.

The vintage furniture gave my room a nice bit of character. From the open window, I could see the nearby rooftops with their old tiles, and in the evening I remember the smell of food from restaurants, along with music and singing. The location and views were lovely. Breakfast and coffee each morning were another highlight. Gagi was attentive and friendly with all of us, including our small daughter, and we really appreciated that. The coffee was excellent, and there was a delightful range of breakfast options. There were a couple of small problems: the light above the bathroom mirror wasn’t working properly, there was no toothbrush cup, and the glasses for water and juice felt thin and fragile. Even so, my family and I had a stay that exceeded my expectations. I’d happily recommend the hotel and hope to return.

We’ll stay here again if we return to Belgrade. The staff were warm, accommodating, and so engaging and helpful. The hotel is right on a pedestrian street, with several excellent traditional cuisine restaurants just seconds away. Breakfast was first rate, with plenty to go around. The rooms are eclectic, but perfectly fine.
