Hostel Bed N Beer

I liked this hostel for its clean rooms, good amenities, and convenient location, so I came back three times in four months. On my latest stay, though, I was quoted nearly twice the usual rate. They discounted it because I stayed two nights, but I still paid 3.5 euro/night more than other guests in the same room. It’s not a huge amount, but it’s enough to put me off returning and leave a bad feeling. :/

The location is excellent, and the staff are kind and helpful. Still, the mattresses are really worn, and noise carries through the thin walls. You also hear the doorbell whenever guests need to be let in. For what you pay, don’t expect anything luxurious.

Skadarlija gets lively on weekends, and this hostel is right in the middle of the bohemian district, so it’s easy to enjoy the night and walk back in five minutes. Republic square and Knez Mihailova are also about a five minute walk away. The owner is awesome and the rooms are clean. If you’re visiting Belgrade, I’d stay here.

Right in central Belgrade, in the heart of the bohemian quarter of Skadarlija, this hostel gives you a taste of the city’s old spirit. The staff are very hospitable. You won’t regret staying here!
