I was left waiting outside late at night because nobody answered when I arrived. The check-in was chaotic. When the door finally opened, the man in charge was sitting on the couch watching TV and seemed uninterested in helping. He questioned the price and told me to leave right away instead of welcoming me or checking my reservation. His manner was aggressive, rude, and completely unprofessional. I've never felt so unwelcome at a hostel. I wouldn't recommend it, and I don't think a place like this should be listed for travelers.

I arrived around 10 PM and called several times from downstairs, but nobody picked up. It took about 20 minutes before someone let me in. An elderly man was on the sofa watching TV and asked what I'd booked for. I said my reservation showed €13.64, but he said he had nothing at that price and told me to leave without checking the booking system. When I asked him to verify it, he refused and was rude and dismissive, saying he didn't want to be disturbed. He repeated that I should go and even threatened to call the police. I've never had such disrespectful, unprofessional treatment at a property on Booking.com. I wouldn't recommend staying here.

Jasmine is easily the best choice. Zak is the heart of this hostel, always around to help and kind and funny too. He keeps the place in order and even gives you a little map he draws himself, with directions to the city's must-see spots. He made it feel like home for me, which doesn't happen often. I'll definitely come back and recommend the hostel. I stayed from 28/08/2025 - 02/09/2025.

He can lose his temper over very simple things and turn aggressive right away. Hospitality isn't his strong point. Be cautious about what you ask or say around him. If you want calm, predictable people and would rather avoid politics and prejudgment, this place might feel too risky.

My boyfriend and I chose this hostel because it was cheap and conveniently located, and later regretted it. We had a very bad experience, and I strongly advise Ukrainians and anyone who supports Ukraine in its confrontation with Russia not to stay here. The receptionist Zak, whom many reviews praise, made the worst impression. He seemed to have two sides. On the first day he was extremely polite and attentive, and we were willing to overlook the hostel's problems: dirty floor, stale bed linen, old towels with dirt embedded in them, an unpleasant shower room smell, and a reception area like a jumble of old things or a flea market. Some people with no taste call it “style” or a “rocker vibe” because they like so-called “modern art.” On the second day, we happened to mention in conversation that we didn't support the war in Ukraine or Putin's policy, or that of his friend Vuchich. Our charming host changed instantly and made it clear we weren't welcome. He was extremely rude whenever we asked questions. He was also often watching TV or playing music, disturbing the quiet even at night. We'd already read Booking reviews, where every negative review gets a response portraying its writer as abusive and blaming the victim. He seems to accuse affected guests of something like theft or overstaying in the country. I doubt he'll respond warmly to us or admit his own mistakes. I'm writing to warn other guests that not everything that glitters is gold, and someone charming can also seem toxic and psychologically unbalanced. This place may suit people who prefer conformity over free expression, bad taste over style, a punk atmosphere over cleanliness, and false submissiveness over sincerity. It may also suit those who need a cheap place so badly that they'll accept anything, including the risk of being left on the street in the middle of the night, as some guest reviews describe. In my view, reasonable, mentally healthy people have no business here. Please respect yourself and your dignity.
