Hotel Capital

We ended up choosing Capital Hotel again for our Belgrade trip this month, January 14-19, 2026, even though the stairs had been hard on me during our previous stay. This time we had a superior room of sufficient size, the breakfast I’d criticized before had improved, and as always the staff were attentive and friendly. Thank you. On our earlier visit, we stayed four nights. The location is very central, just behind Knez Mihailova Street and a few hundred meters from Rajićeva Shopping Mall and Kalemegdan. There are plenty of restaurants and cafes nearby, yet our room was quiet. Staff were friendly, and the airport shuttle worked perfectly in both directions. Drivers helped with luggage. We’d booked a standard room, which was small, at the back of the hotel, with no good view. There’s just one slow lift. My biggest difficulty was the stairs: I’d had a knee replacement a few months earlier, and my prosthetic knees don’t like going up and down. The breakfast room was on floor -1, down 36 steps, and the lift didn’t reach it. That makes the hotel a poor choice for people with mobility problems. The open buffet breakfast was okay for cold food, with several cheeses, olives, chicken salami, and ham, but they didn’t serve hot items like fried sausage or pastrami every morning. Still, my wife and I appreciated their hospitality.

The location puts restaurants, cafes, shops, and attractions all within a short walk, right in the city center. The hotel was clean, the room tidy and comfortable, and the atmosphere welcoming. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout my visit. I had a wonderful stay, would definitely come back, and highly recommend it.

The service really impressed me, especially the girl who helped us over those two days. She took care of everything, from arranging an early breakfast to reminding us about the tip for ordering a taxi. So considerate and helpful! The room was clean, and the hotel’s in the city center without facing the busy street directly. We had such a good stay.

It’s quiet around the hotel, with no street noise, and the staff are really friendly and pleasant. The location is amazing too, a two-minute walk from Kneza Mihaila and ten minutes on foot from Kalemegdan. The air conditioning was very noisy, and much of the hotel seems poorly maintained. Several things in the room were broken, including the shower hanger, and there were old, random broken clothes hangers. The breakfast area had issues too: the toaster was partly broken, lots of food covers and dishes were cracked or broken, and the coffee machine was very old and dirty.
