Garni Hotel Nota

Hotel Nota is easy to get to by public transport, and getting to the city centre is straightforward. The restaurant does good, honest food without any fuss, and the rooms were clean. Staff were helpful and friendly. At breakfast, though, the background music felt a bit loud for that early in the day. A dependable, no-fuss place in a handy location.

We couldn't get any rest because a wedding party downstairs sent music and vibrations through the floor. It was literally shaking in our room. The staff said the event would go on until midnight, possibly into the morning. We hadn't seen any notice that the hotel hosts weddings. It's a one-storey hotel with the restaurant directly below us. For €100 a night, the poor value was made worse by being outside the centre and not even having a Smart TV in the room. If we'd been told about events like this, we wouldn't have booked.

We had a celebration here and everything was great: pleasant, professional staff, tasty food and a clean bathroom. A perfect score from me.

Hotel Nota's location made sightseeing easy during my seven-day stay, since most popular spots in Belgrade were walkable. The morning receptionist was also warm and helpful, which made check-in and mornings pleasant. The rest of the service left me disappointed. We repeatedly said we were vegetarian and were told the chef would make something special, but nothing ever came through during the week. At breakfast, a simple request for fruit with bread and jam was ignored. When I asked for white butter, they brought cream instead and acted as though they were doing me a favor. The restaurant staff came across as dismissive and unprofessional. We had an early flight and were assured there'd be packed food for the trip, but nothing was ready at checkout. The hotel also doesn't supply drinking water, so we had to buy bottles outside every day. I don't know whether that's usual in Serbia, but it was inconvenient and didn't feel like proper hotel hospitality. The location and that one helpful receptionist were the only real positives. I wouldn't recommend it to vegetarians or anyone expecting steady service.
