The single room was clean and modern, compact but thoughtfully laid out with everything I needed. Breakfast was very good too. Both reception staff were incredibly helpful: they printed some documents for me and charged my phone. The hotel is in a top spot, right in the city center beside the park and castle. I’ll book again when I’m next in Belgrade.

The old buildings and city atmosphere made this a lovely place to stay, and the Soviet details brought up both happy feelings and a little nostalgia for people who miss socialism. The hotel sits right on Knez Mihailova Street, with a splendid view over the city. For a boutique hotel, the service and cleanliness were quite good. I rated the service and room four stars; with a boutique hotel, I don’t think five stars is likely. I’d feel completely comfortable staying here again.

For the price, the service feels more than fair. The staff were polite, friendly, and efficient, and the rooms were comfortable. It’s a charming little hotel in a location that really couldn’t be better.

The noise made it impossible to sleep. Clubs and bars were loud through the night, then street cleaning started, and even earplugs didn’t help. This is a place to stay awake, not rest. I wish I’d known before booking, because even one night was far too much. The room was outrageous for the price and supposed four-star rating. It felt old, the bed was rock hard with springs poking through, the pillows were flat, and the shower sprayed every which way, as if it hadn’t been descaled. The air conditioning was loud and wouldn’t go below 24°C. Even parking was a hassle. You have to pick up a card before you can leave your car anywhere, which seems ridiculous in a busy city like Belgrade. Four stars? I’d say two, and that’s generous.
