The staff and volunteers made our stay especially welcoming and fun. The Angelas(3) at reception helped us feel safe and at home, while Annachie, Ivana and Stephan knew how to have a good time and knew the area well, from local pubs and nightclubs to traditional serbian restaurants and attractions. Up Hostel is a wonderful hostel on an ideally located, lively street. You can hear traditional Serbian music late into the night. The rooms and amenities are well maintained, and the mix of guest ages makes for a pleasant stay. 10/10, I'd stay here again.

The front desk staff are nice, but I found the cleaning staff terrible and the staff generally rude. At 6 AM they barged in and made a racket banging doors while cleaning. It was so loud I thought someone was breaking into my room. A hello or a smile when passing a hostel guest seems like basic courtesy, but politeness here felt like too much to expect.

The location was A-MAZ-ING ✨ Everything is within a 10-15 minute walk, and the restaurants on the street are worth trying for local food. We stayed two nights in a 4-bed ensuite. The room was clean and the stay was okay, and it was nice to have Turkish coffee and a clean kitchen on hand. If I visit Belgrad again, this is where I'll stay.

The staff are friendly and helpful, and before long they feel like friends. They make sure you're comfortable, informed, and safe. Angela (brown hair) was especially awesome. She helped me get through a deadline I found out about at the last minute.
