Villa Forever

The one real plus is how close the place is to the old city center and the castle. My room was old and dirty, and the air conditioning barely worked on a really hot night. I complained to the 24-hour reception, but they did nothing until I raised it again the next day. Then they sent us to a basement room with mould and a terrible smell. Parking is not free anywhere nearby, but most lots charge 12-13€ per day. The reception offered parking at 15€ for 24 hours, then tried to charge me that amount for just 12 hours. At 45€ a night, this hotel is very overrated.

The owner is so friendly and really goes out of her way for guests. We couldn’t get a taxi to the bus station, so she drove us there herself on a snowy day. That’s customer delight in the truest sense. The rooms are clean, and the place is right in the centre, near restaurants, malls, and tourist spots.

I’d never reviewed anything before, but the customer service here was so good that I wanted to say something publicly for the first time. I spent about a month at Villa Forever last year around Halloween. The staff were professional, friendly, helpful, and clearly skilled at their jobs the whole time. They were patient with my limited Serbian and often went above and beyond to help me get around the city. I really respect the whole team and hope they’re all doing well. They made amazing breakfasts every morning, were always polite, and kept everything clean. Truly the best at what they do. If I could give 1000 stars, I would.

The location was the one good thing about our stay. We were there on a study trip in November, and the room felt like a basement dungeon, with dirty beds and a place that seemed badly outdated. The online photos looked appealing, but the real thing was a letdown. I tried to raise it with the person in charge and wasn't given a chance to discuss it. For just five euros more a night, you could stay in a luxurious apartment. I'd choose another hotel, which I think would be ten times better.
