Hotel Putnik Kopaonik

The New Year’s Eve night wasn’t enjoyable for me. The hotel had a Serbian band that played only Serbian music. Around 80% of the guests were from other countries, so having a DJ play international music as well would have made the atmosphere more inclusive. We also had a water supply problem at one point: there was no water in the shower, sink, or even the restaurant. I would have liked to hear about it in advance, and perhaps been offered complimentary water at the restaurant as a small gesture. Even with those issues, Hotel Putnik was a very good choice for a ski holiday. The staff were friendly, helpful, and responsive, and breakfast and dinner were buffet-style with enough variety for everyone. It’s easy to reach the slopes by ski bus or personal car, and when there’s enough snow, you can ski directly to slope 1C, which is a big plus. Coming back to relax in the spa and pool after skiing was great. The location and facilities make it a solid option for a ski trip.

The coffee at the bar was okay, but the main pool water was cold. The food was mediocre, nowhere near four-star hotel quality. The coffee was the worst, and the soups had no taste. There weren’t any teaspoons for coffee or dessert, so sweets and yoghurt came with regular spoons. At breakfast, pudding was available at 8 o’clock, but after 9 there was none at all. Customer service during meals could be better. That’s part of why I gave this rating. All in, it doesn’t feel like a four-star hotel. Food quality and service need major improvement.

We booked a family room with one king bed and two twin beds, which worked perfectly for our family of four. It was spacious, clean, and comfortable, and the staff were professional, friendly, and always willing to help. We spent three days at Hotel Putnik Kopaonik during our winter vacation. Although it isn’t right in the centre, it’s well connected: there’s a free shuttle to the ski area every 30 minutes in the morning, and taxis are available 24/7 for the one-minute ride. Skiing was very convenient. You can arrange ski rental, ski school, and ski passes at the hotel. There’s also a rental shop in the centre, where we collected our equipment, which was more convenient for us. We chose half-board, and both meals were excellent with plenty of variety. The spa is worth trying too, with an infrared sauna, Russian sauna, Finnish sauna, Turkish steam room, jacuzzi, kids’ pool, and a large pool overlooking the forest. We had a great stay and would choose it again for our next ski trip. Highly recommended for ski lovers.

A great choice for a real break away from the crowds at the popular ski centre. The hotel is well organized, very clean, and serves home-cooked food. The staff are friendly. I’d recommend it.
