Lazin Rooms & Apartments

The hospitality at Lazin Salas was on another level. The servers were so welcoming and curious about the United States that I felt they might adopt me if I stayed long enough. It’s a loud, quirky example of kafana culture at its best. The courtyard is full of antiques and garage sale finds, and somehow it all works perfectly. I had spicy fish soup that really cleared my sinuses, and feta with honey was a great salty-sweet pairing.

We’re vegetarian, and on a rainy day the hot comfort food really hit the spot. The atmosphere was lovely, the service warm, and the prices reasonable. Would happily come back.

Even with the place busy, service was quick, and the waitress was kind and friendly. The food was excellent, with portions sized so I could finish without wasting any. They found me a table when nearby restaurants had turned me away. There’s also a picture section at the back of the menu if the local dishes are unfamiliar.

We liked Lazin Salas enough to return for lunch on our second and last day in Novi Sad. My Airbnb host had suggested it, and my friend and I loved both visits. The food was delicious, well priced, and the service was excellent. I’d have liked a better wine by the glass and would have paid more for it, but that didn’t take away from a great experience. 5/5, highly recommend.
