Hotel Ana Lux Spa

We stopped here on the way to Bulgaria, and the room was in rough shape. The toilet door wouldn’t shut properly, the showerhead holder was broken, and the pillows were so uncomfortable that I woke up with neck and back pain. The EV charging was a separate mess. I asked two different people to activate it, and neither mentioned a price. At checkout I was told the slow charger cost 4 eur/hour and was charged for 12 hours, even though I stopped it myself in the morning after 10 hours. They said I needed to invite someone over to witness that. I didn’t have time to argue, so I paid for the most expensive charging of my life.

The pancakes were tasty, which is the only reason this gets two stars. I waited a full hour for one, and the waiter was rude, unprofessional, and disrespectful. He never checked whether everything was okay, and I couldn’t get his attention for ages. I’ve worked in a restaurant before, and a quick check-in while guests are eating is basic courtesy. Awful experience.

Right in the city centre, and the bed was comfortable. My single room was clean, with enough space for one night, and the hotel seems to have been renovated fairly recently. The minibar prices were reasonable and breakfast was sufficient. I didn’t try the SPA, maybe next time.

The interior is spacious and clean, and the location is good, but the service was very poor. The cafe is part of a hotel. There was a sticker saying cards were accepted, but card payment wasn’t available. That’s misleading and incorrect. I wouldn’t recommend it, since there are many independent cafes nearby with better service and card payment.
