Hotel Mlavske Terme Ždrelo

A great place.

We went to the pools, and the water was great. The toilets were okay, but the area around the pool is a little neglected, with not much investment. Some things need repairing and others just need a wash. The water gets dirty quickly, and nobody filters out the dirt.

The space is generous and warmer than advertised, and the water is hot. Those were the only things keeping me from giving it two stars. Otherwise, the place is outdated, badly maintained, and visibly deteriorating. The system is outdated too. They ask for a cash deposit for the closet key. I didn't have any dinars, so I left 5 euros, which felt like the height of gypsyism. There's no food inside, and even if the bar served it, the toilet urine smell would put me off eating there. If you're hungry, you have to get fully dressed and go to the restaurant in another building, which is an unnecessary hassle, though some people do get food brought over by a waiter. The slides run on a schedule: the first opens at 12 o'clock, another at 14 o'clock, then the last at 16 o'clock. If you have a child with you, be ready to explain patience. Finally, although the water is very warm, it's extremely dirty and smells strongly of chlorine. We know pool water smells of chlorine when it reacts with biological material, microorganisms, and dirt. It's a nice place, but I think either the owner is no longer in charge or they chose poor staff this year.

The surroundings are lovely, quiet, and have clean air. The restaurant food is good, and the pools have nice water at different temperatures. The bed-and-breakfast service doesn't match the price. The rooms are okay, but often too small and poorly equipped for what they cost. The area around the cafe between the pools could be cleaner and tidier. Almost always, one of the saunas or steam rooms isn't working.
