Kivu Park Hotel

I was here on a business trip and had a good time. The garden is lovely, there’s plenty of parking, and it’s near the lake. Rooms are very affordable and the food is delicious. You can sit inside, out in the garden, or up on the rooftop for food and drinks. A nice place to hang out, and I’d recommend it to anyone wanting to visit.

Eric, the owner, was very helpful when we were looking for somewhere in Gisenyi to stay with our campervan, a Big Rig. He let us park in the large, level lot and offered us a room with a hot shower. The parking area is walled and felt very secure both day and night. Lake Kivu is about a 5-minute walk away. We had dinner at the restaurant too, and found the food delicious and affordable. The garden makes a pleasant spot for a drink or a meal. A quiet, nice place for travellers with campervans, whether a small car or a big rig.

We came here twice in two days, once for dinner and once for lunch. The chicken and steak with mash were great. There’s a big green area where kids can play, and everyone was friendly. It’s near Lake Kivu and an easy walk from the hot springs. I’d happily go back.

I’m talking about the El Paco restaurant in Kivu park, not the hotel. The food is great, the wines are decent, and the prices are good, so I definitely recommend it. It’s also kid-friendly, with a large garden for children to run around in and usually other kids there too.
