Nirvana Heights Hotel

When we arrived, we wanted to book two rooms and asked for a discount from the $170 price. I paid $170 online, but then the reception told me to add another $80. I decided to switch hotels and get a refund, but they refused. The reception was bullshit.

The terrace and infinity pool are beautiful, with a stunning view, and the service was very friendly. We stayed three nights, and the breakfast varied a lot from one day to the next. The first morning had a great selection, the second offered only some fruit, bread, and soup, and by day three it was almost back to normal. Service was friendly but quite slow. One of us got food poisoning from lettuce that might not have been washed properly, so try to avoid the salads. It’s a super nice place in a great location, but cleanliness and small maintenance details could improve. Our room floor was very dusty, a bedside lamp didn’t work, and there was mold in the bathrooms.

That infinity pool is beautiful, and the view is one of the best in Rwanda. The food and service were great too. We only visited for the day, but I saw the rooms and they looked very nice. A lovely spot for sunset drinks and dinner in Gisenyi. I’d definitely come back and stay for a weekend.

The view and atmosphere are a full 10/10, and the resort is lovely, especially the infinity pool. The place is spotless and the staff are kind. They serve hot and cold drinks along with food, though service can take a while. Check which dishes are halal before ordering. Pool access costs $5.
