Good News Guesthouse

I really liked the room, it was clean and spacious. Breakfast could use more variety, though. Having the same toast and bread every day gets boring. Some cereal, meat dishes, and seasonal fruit would be welcome.

The guesthouse team went well beyond what we expected to make us feel at home, and the place itself is a clean, modern getaway in a special setting. A few tips from my stay: Rwanda's coffee is first-rate, including the coffee at the Guest House. Ask about visiting a local roaster and picking up a couple of pounds, it's an excellent gift and, in my opinion, some of the best coffee in the world. You could also ask whether they have sugar cane. If you're lucky, they'll cut some up fresh for you. It was fun to try and tasted pretty good. The staff can help with local knowledge and connections for trips to the countryside, markets, or genocide memorials. Through community groups connected to Good News, I was privileged to hear incredible stories of survival and redemption. I'd recommend asking the staff to tell you more about those groups.

The views are beautiful, and the beds were really comfortable. Good News Guesthouse was a great place to stay in Kigali, with delicious breakfast and great service. They also arranged a car for us to the Uganda border.

The food was delicious at breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It was a nice place overall, though the garden needs better lighting between the parking area and the rooms. God bless you.
