Hemingways Retreat Kigali

What made the stay feel so personal was the staff. They were thoughtful, friendly, and accommodating, and took time to chat and get to know us. Every interaction came with a warm greeting and a question about how we were doing or how our day had gone. The property is gorgeous and well maintained, with comfortable, spacious, clean rooms, plus a nicely done pool area, restaurants, gym, and spa. We especially enjoyed the exceptional restaurant food, including the traditional Rwandan dishes we got to try. The agatogo is highly recommended :) We had a wonderful experience and hope to return soon ❤️

Hemingways was a wonderful first hotel for our time in Rwanda, and we've become big fans. We had a lovely massage when we arrived, then a great dinner at the poolside restaurant. The rooms were clean and spacious, and the whole property felt welcoming. Staff were extremely friendly, and our transfers were on time. For our early flight, they even packed a little breakfast to go. A really great start to our Rwanda adventure. It's the newest hotel in Kigali and the group's first venture outside Kenya.

The hotel, its facilities, and the service were all first class. Andrew deserves a special mention as our guide. He spoke brilliant English, knew so much about his country and culture, and was fantastic when a crisis came up. Ask for Andrew if you can!

The property is lovely, the service was great, and both dinner and breakfast were super yummy. Our room was a bit small. At checkout, their card machine strangely wouldn't work, which was really annoying and bizarre. We had to spend so much of our cash for no good reason, hence the 2 stars.
