IRIS Guesthouse

Martine, the owner, is warm and calm, and you can feel how much of herself she puts into the guest house as soon as you arrive. She has a van that can pick you up at the airport for a very affordable price. There's also a dollar account, which makes payment easy for foreigners, and the guest house restaurant serves a warm buffet meal. This is a public appreciation. Give her all your money.

I spent several weeks in Kigali on a short-stay assignment, and the team at Iris made me feel right at home. They were quick to respond to requests and kindly handled my dietary needs. The cleaning staff did excellent work with both the room and laundry. It's affordable accommodation, and I'd highly recommend it.

We loved our three nights here. Everyone, from the concierge to the cleaning and dining staff, was incredibly friendly and happy to help. When I asked for another pillow and bottles of water, they brought them right away. Breakfast runs buffet-style from 6:30am - 10:00am, with sweet and savory choices like fruit, toast, cereal, milk, tea, and some cooked meat and vegetables. We went by bus to another region of Rwanda for two days and nights, and Iris Guesthouse kindly kept my suitcase so I didn't have to carry the extra luggage around. The room was quite small, which is why I gave it four stars, but it was still manageable for two people. I'd highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Kigali.

We had a lovely one-night stay, with comfortable beds and a hot shower. Our flight out of Kigali was delayed by 12 hours, and Eve at the front desk was incredibly helpful. He let us use his phone several times to call customer service, extended our checkout, and helped us plan a day in Kigali. I'd gladly stay again and definitely recommend it.
