Kigaliview Hotel & Apartments

They were attentive and took the time to listen, and I appreciated the care in their service. If you're visiting Rwanda, stay at Kigaliview Hotel.

The first room I saw was nice, but the one I booked for the following week was a real disappointment. The water wouldn't drain properly, the mirrors were damaged, and there were other issues too. There was no smart TV, and getting a shirt washed costs 1.500 francs. They moved me to a room they said would be better, but I found even more problems there: no hot water and lots of construction noise in the hotel. Check the room in daylight before paying, and don't expect good service.

We had a nice pool area and enjoyed the food, but the room wasn't what we'd booked. We reserved a double and got twin beds. The bathroom was the worst designed one I've seen in a hotel. The shower is at the highest point, so water spreads across the room, there's no curtain, and the windows look onto the main street.

The pool is outside the hotel on floor 1, with a lovely seating area around it. It really adds to the place. Reception is on floor 2, and the rooms are on floors 3, 4, and 5. The staff were friendly and helpful, though some of them don't speak English. My room had a fantastic view and was OK otherwise, but the toilet smelled very bad. I suspect there's a sewage problem, since my daughter noticed the same smell in her room. Food was fresh and cooked well, though the choices were limited. Breakfast is free for all guests. Kigaliview Hotel is well located, close to shops, banks, MTN, and the market. I'd recommend it and give it 4 stars if they fix the sewage issue.
