La Palisse Nyamata

We left most of our food behind when we went elsewhere after the whole grilled goat arrived very late on 18th October 2025 and wasn't properly cooked. We asked for it to be taken back to the kitchen so we could collect it later. When we returned, about three quarters of the goat had somehow become just a quarter. Our fries, the salad we'd left untouched, the small chicken, and the pilau rice were all gone too. We couldn't get any of it back. What a letdown. We were so disappointed with the service, especially for a hotel of this caliber.

I stayed here for an extended period, and what should have been comfortable became frustrating. The hotel felt badly managed, and I was deeply disappointed. Staff in housekeeping would say “yes” to avoid taking responsibility, then not follow through. Most of the service staff were unprofessional and unreliable. The chef and the patisserie guy both need training. Food quality was poor, about 4/10, and the wifi was extremely poor, 1/10. Room service costs seemed unreasonably high and often didn't match what we'd agreed on. The reception line rarely answered, even when there weren't other guests around.

This is the greatest hotel known to man. I'd choose it over anywhere else.

There are lots of trees around the buildings, which make the atmosphere pleasant, and the staff are welcoming and quick. I especially liked the pool, both for its size and the way it's raised off the ground. It's said to be the largest pool in Rwanda. There's a gym just below it, plus play equipment for kids and basketball and volleyball courts. The hotel is right on the road in Nyamata, with plenty of space for wedding ceremonies, a large parking lot, and high security.
