We planned to stay one night at Homescapes in August 2025 and ended up extending our visit. The staff made everything easy, arranging a city tour and then a trip to Akagera National Park, with pickup right at the property. Even the airport taxi was a luxury vehicle. The garden was large, tidy, and peaceful, and the nights were quiet enough for great sleep. Internet was fast, good for work or streaming. Inside, the furnishings were fancy, and the attached bathrooms were clean and modern. Getting around was easy. The property is on a tarmac road local taxi drivers know well, in the high-end residential area of Gasave/Gisozi. Downtown is a five-minute drive, the Genocide Memorial is two minutes away, and the Bus Park and Uganda Highway are five minutes away. Fantastic stay and service.

We were so upset by the deception that we left to find somewhere else to stay. The host said our booked room wasn't available and offered another location, which we reluctantly accepted after nearly an hour of searching and failed calls. The address from Booking.com only gave a street, not a specific location. We went into the building shown in Google Photos and asked a Caucasian man if it was "HomeEscapes." He flatly denied it, so we left and searched the area. After several unsuccessful attempts to call the host, he finally called back, refused to give us the actual address, and insisted on meeting in person. To our shock, the same man who denied being the host then came out of the very building we'd visited first. He acted like he had never seen us. The property is completely dishonest, and the host is essentially a scammer.

I loved having breakfast on the terrace with a view over Kigali. The house is charming and tastefully decorated, and my room was comfortable and spotless. The guesthouse is in a quiet spot close to the city center and places like the Genocide Museum. I'm a young French woman and spent a few days here. From my arrival, the welcome was warm, and the staff were always ready with advice about the city and its attractions. They were attentive, and I felt completely safe and at ease. It's a lovely place to recharge while exploring Kigali. I'll definitely come back.
