Ubumwe Grande Hotel

I was in Kigali for a three-day business trip and stayed at Ubumwe Grande Hotel. The stay was comfortable and productive, and the central location made it easy to get around. It felt safe, and the calm atmosphere and reliable Wi-Fi suited work well. The rooftop restaurant has a great view of Kigali, and the meals there were even more enjoyable for it. The food was a highlight overall: the buffet breakfast and dinners were fresh, tasty, and nicely presented, with plenty of choices. My shared room was clean, comfortable, and well kept, with the essentials provided. Housekeeping handled requests quickly. I also appreciated how peaceful the room was for both resting and working. What really stood out was the hospitality. Everyone I dealt with was kind, professional, and attentive, and made me feel welcome throughout my stay. The hotel had a great atmosphere for business travelers. I'd gladly stay again on my next trip, and recommend it to people visiting Kigali for work or leisure.

We found a cockroach beside our food at this restaurant. After we reported it, the staff killed it but took no other action, which was extremely disappointing and concerning. Kigali has many good restaurants with lower prices and much better service. Based on what happened, I wouldn't recommend this place to tourists.

I've visited Ubumwe Grande Hotel several times to eat, and recently attended a conference there too. We used a Kivu room on the second floor. It was comfortable, with good air-conditioning, a pleasant atmosphere, and reliable wired and wireless internet. The staff were very supportive, which you don't find everywhere in Kigali. I tried the buffet at the first-floor restaurant. There was a good selection, and everything I ate was delicious. You can also look out over the city center from there. The rooftop restaurant has an even wider view since it's higher up and open, with almost the whole city below. I haven't really tried its food yet, though I've heard it's good. I'll go back to try it myself. It's a great central spot for food, sleeping, and conferences.

We were in August 2025 for the Special Convention of Jehovah's Witnesses, and my family and I would gladly stay here again. The dining felt special, and the hotel was comfortable with excellent service and staff.
