We spent two great days in Akagera National Park with Justin, our brilliant driver and guide. He knew a huge amount about the animals and birds, especially where to look. He found elephants when other guides couldn't, and his knowledge of the park's wide variety of birds would make it a birder's paradise. We saw many kinds of wildlife up close, including rhinos, zebra, and giraffe, though no lions or leopards. We even spotted a hippo grazing out of the water, which they usually stay in the lake, but it had been raining. I wasn't much of a photographer, but I've attached pictures to show how close we got, especially to the elephants, rhinos, zebra, and giraffe. One night we camped in tents on the park's highest mountain, at 6,000 feet, surrounded by an electric fence. We had a picnic by the fire before bed. Clouds meant there wasn't really a sunrise or sunset, but the view across the park was stunning. Ben was flexible and responsive about our dates and picked us up and dropped us off at our accommodation in Kigali. The vehicle is well designed for safety and getting close to the wildlife. I can't recommend the trip enough.

Arnaud made the day unforgettable. He was patient, knew so much, and had a playful sense of humour. My husband and I spent the full day travelling south from Kigali with him, visiting the King's Palace in Nyanza, the Ethnographic Museum, and the Murambi Genocide Memorial. At the palace, we watched a fabulous African dance performance by Isongaa, whose dancers were incredibly talented. The visit to Murambi was vital, though it's a gritty and sombre place. Everyone should experience it and prepare themselves. The genocide changed the course of Rwandan history, and nobody leaves Murambi unchanged. We'd highly recommend this day tour.

I hadn't planned on going on safari in Rwanda, but the experience blew me away. We saw four of the Big Five, and the encounters were close enough that I didn't need binoculars, yet I never felt unsafe. Bosco, our guide, knew the animals and their habitat well and answered all our questions. Everyone treated us with kindness and courtesy. Those five-star reviews are true. Thanks for showing me such a wonderful experience.

The views were great, the company was good, and Bernard was a terrific guide. My co-worker and I had originally planned to go gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park, but unexpected circumstances meant we couldn't. We wanted to make the most of our business trip and see more of Rwanda, so after looking at different activities, we chose Bernard's tour in the western region. It packed a lot in without ever making me feel rushed. As a coffee lover, I really enjoyed visiting the Rubengera local cooperative and learning how coffee goes from growing the cherries through fermentation and quality checks to the cup I'm enjoying now. At Lake Kivu, we took in the views over lunch at the canopy restaurant, then went by boat to the island and hiked its hills in Karongi. I saw lots of wildlife, plants, and other natural life. The highlight was watching cows swim from one island to another. Bernard was professional, knowledgeable, and sincere. He joined in the activities with us, and along the way he showed us landmarks and explained their history. By the end, he felt like a friend as well as a guide. His hospitality left a lasting impression and showed me the beauty of Rwanda, its environment, and its people. I hope to return soon and book another tour.

Nicha and Bernard made my four-day trip around Rwanda unforgettable. They were welcoming, polite, professional, and knowledgeable, and shared so much information along the way. I got to experience Akagera, Nyungwe, Kivu, and the King's Palace. Highly recommended!
