Wailers Lodge

For the price, this is fantastic. The people are nice, and the place is comfortable and clean. I'd go for the double room. I'm still staying here, and the bar upstairs serves very reasonably priced food. There are lots of places nearby, and motos are available if you need one. Now that I'm back in the UK, I wanted to add that they emailed to check I'd got home safely. They also gave me tea and coffee as a leaving gift, with lovely wishes on the labels. Good people, affordable accommodation, and a great base for travelling around the country. The money I saved here paid for a hire car and journeys across the whole country. Recommended.

I booked through Agoda because this guest house was near the airport, but the stay was awful. I got there at noon and waited three hours just for them to confirm the booking. Agoda had emailed me a confirmation, yet the guest house said they hadn't received the money. When I wanted to leave, they stopped me and demanded cash. I had already paid Agoda, so any payment issue should have been taken up with the agent, not me. There was no Wi-Fi and nowhere to leave my luggage. I was furious. I wouldn't stay here again; I should have stayed at my previous hotel.

It's cheap, clean, and decent, and I'd stay here again when I'm in Kigali. The internet could be more stable, though, and the mosquito net didn't fit the bed. I was getting bitten all night.

A clean place with room service and very affordable rates, just a few hundred meters from the airport. One of the best spots to stay while visiting Kigali. Kudos.
