Getting there by car is really difficult for the last few hundred meters, and the dock for reaching the lake needs attention. They could also do a better job keeping enough cold drinks in stock. Still, it’s a lovely spot in a beautiful bay, with friendly, helpful staff, nice food, and small but very pleasant rooms. The price is reasonable. You can see a power plant from there, though it didn’t bother me.

The balcony view was incredible, and the staff helped us arrange a boat rental and kayaking on the lake. We found the drive in a bit rough because the place is secluded, but taking it slowly was fine, and the stay was worth it. Our bamboo hut was simple and very clean. I was impressed that there wasn’t a single ant inside. The bed was really comfortable, with a mosquito net. It’s such a quiet, laid-back place, and the staff were super friendly and helpful. We loved the restaurant too, especially the food and reasonable prices. Thanks for making our Rwanda trip so lovely. I’d highly recommend it and would happily go back 😍

The staff were super friendly, and the restaurant and breakfast were decent. Breakfast came with an omelette, some bread, fruit, and tea, coffee, or hot chocolate. The rooms are small but have a lovely view. Hot water and electricity were always available :)

We took boat tours straight from the lodge’s lakeshore, and the food arrived in a reasonable amount of time. The Google Maps coordinates were correct for us, despite what earlier reviews said. The food was good, and I’d say try the grilled chicken. The ginger latte was amazing too. It’s a beautiful place with direct lake access, good service, and very good value for money. Highly recommended.
