The Garden Place Hotel

I got sick after eating the hotel food, and my trip was badly affected. The quality and hygiene seemed clearly poor. I can’t recommend this place.

The setting feels safe, with a church, police station, and hospital nearby. It’s quiet, clean, secure, and affordable, and the place is wheelchair accessible with Wi-Fi. I tried the things they recommended, including some interesting Rwandan fruits 😅.

I booked four days, but they checked me out without asking because reception hadn’t read my booking. The reception team seemed completely overwhelmed, and they also got my laundry bill wrong, in their favor. I didn’t feel comfortable here at all. Breakfast wasn’t ready at the promised 7 a.m. It was very limited and poor for European tastes. I could order from the menu, but waited 20 minutes. If you need to leave on time and have a proper breakfast, eat somewhere else. I’d stay elsewhere.

The rooms are average, and breakfast and restaurant food both need work. There was no coffee offered at breakfast, and a second cup had to be paid for. The staff were helpful and nice, and the central location is convenient. With respect, a place owned by a Diocese could use more tourism training. They certainly know how to make money.
