Abha Airport Hotel

The grounds are spacious, with pleasant little paths through tidy gardens full of plants, trees, and flowers. It’s one of my favourite hotels, old-fashioned in style but very clean and well maintained. It’s close to the airport and has its own mosque and cafe.

Clean and quiet were the only upsides. I stayed in winter and the room was icy cold because the heater was broken. There was no working hot water, and the wifi didn’t exist. The place felt overpriced, bare, and old. Thankfully my credit card let me reverse the charge, so I got to stay for free. Avoid at all costs.

It’s very quiet apart from the noise when planes land, since the hotel is right next to the airport. The rooms are huge, with some having a garden and others a large balcony. The interior looks about 30 years old but has been refreshed. There’s a swimming pool, gym, tennis courts, and a restaurant, though the food choices are very limited. It’s a nice place overall, but underinvested.

It’s a calm, nice place, but the service wasn’t proper. The internet was barely there, with awful connectivity. It disconnected every minute and wouldn’t reconnect. Room sockets were the old type, with too few options for modern mobile chargers. My room had no refrigerator or tissues, among other things. I’d suggest finding another hotel at the same price with much better facilities.
