I arrived at Hotel Golden New jWan at 11:15 PM on May 26th, but the receptionist said there were no rooms and tried to send me somewhere else. I had already confirmed my late arrival, 11:00 PM – 11:30 PM, twice, on May 25th and again on May 26th at 3:00 PM. The property had also called me at 11pm, and I told them I was nearby. They said they’d wait, but still refused my booking through booking.com when I got there. Although booking.com still showed rooms at the same accommodation, I had to take a taxi and find somewhere else in the middle of the night. At 11:50 PM, the hotel messaged me on WhatsApp saying a room had suddenly become available. They hadn’t checked the booking properly, but I’d already been forced to check into another hotel.

Terrible service. Mohammed Ali at reception was extremely rude and unprofessional, with no basic manners. Completely unacceptable.

The room was spacious, clean, and had a comfortable bed. The shower was especially nice for a hotel at this price. The staff were warm and helpful, and we appreciated how well they looked after us. We did have to wait a long time for towels after requesting them, and traffic from the nearby main road made the room a little noisy.

We had to keep asking for basic things throughout the stay. Towels only arrived once they came back from the laundry, possibly after we had already checked out. Tissues also took repeated requests. In the two-bedroom apartment, they gave us just one toothbrush, one body lotion, and one shampoo. Apart from the bed, nothing seemed to be provided without asking.
