The spacious rooms and big lobby are appealing, and Al Diyafa Hotel is conveniently placed for getting to Al Qaria Souk. The original design seems thoughtfully planned, but wear and tear and poor maintenance have taken away from the experience. Breakfast is limited, with little beyond croissants, white bread, tea cakes, karak tea, black coffee, and low-quality juice. Better upkeep and more breakfast choices would make a big difference.

The price was good when I booked through Booking two days ahead, but I didn't like the stay and won't return or recommend it. The room smelled of smoke, the bathroom was dirty, and the WiFi was very bad in the room. On the second day, I couldn't sleep because a child was crying in a nearby room.
