Al-Masem 5 Hotel Suites

The apartment was a decent size, and having a kitchen and refrigerator was handy. There's also a market right next door with everything you might need. But the kitchen had very little equipment, and our apartment didn't have the microwave shown in the pictures and listing. The furniture had some stains and looked a bit dirty. There are two elevators, but they're very small. Overall, an average rental apartment.

We stay here when work brings us to town, and the front desk staff are always welcoming. They even remember our names. The rooms have enough furnishings to be comfortable, and laundry service is a real plus when we're travelling. There's a lively market right beside the hotel with fresh produce, drinks, and other things, plus plenty of shops and restaurants within walking distance. Room service seems to come once a week, or when requested. The staff do go the extra mile to make us comfortable. The downsides are the lack of microwaves, very outdated bathrooms, and uncomfortable beds. Wi-Fi is poor, especially in the rooms farther from the main area, where the connection gets worse. There are two elevators, though I prefer the stairs.

It's a pretty nice place to stay. Just be sure to ask for room service when you need it. They don't come regularly unless you've clearly requested it. I think management set it up this way for safety and privacy.

The spacious room was noisy in the morning for no good reason, and after two nights there was still no room cleaning. The location is the one good thing. The lifts sometimes don't work properly, with the doors repeatedly opening and closing. The hotel smells bad, the washroom needs renovating ASAP, and the AC and other facilities aren't up to standard.
