I stayed at Garden Plaza Hotel Al Ahsa for 10 nights. The location was handy, with several shopping malls around, and although there’s no dedicated hotel parking, free spaces were easy to find in front of the nearby mall and behind the hotel. My room was spacious, with quality furniture, a large high-quality TV, and a big, comfortable bed. It had a coffee kettle, working mini fridge, iron and ironing board, locker, toiletries, and sandals. The AC worked perfectly, and room service was excellent, with plenty of complimentary water, coffee, and tea every day. WiFi was fast and reliable throughout the hotel. Breakfast at the buffet was good, and we had dinner there every night. The food quality was consistently excellent. My one concern is how staff interact with guests. After nearly 30 years of staying in hotels around the world, I think they could communicate in a more polished, professional way. That would benefit both the hotel and future guests. The facilities and food made for a solid stay, and better service in this area would improve it further.

I can’t comment on the hotel itself because I didn’t stay there. I booked through booking.com at the last minute and arrived within 10 minutes. After checking in, I found there was no balcony, even though one was listed. I explained to the receptionist that I’m claustrophobic, asked to cancel without a fee, and left. The receptionist was perfectly fine, but management later denied the request, said all the information was correct, and marked me as a no-show despite my having checked in. The balcony listing could have been a mistake, but management won’t acknowledge any inaccuracy and keeps saying they won’t refund me because the information was correct. Their customer service has been nonexistent, and they’re now threatening me for continuing to complain. I’d recommend not booking here in case something goes wrong.

A basic, simple hotel, good enough for a business trip. The receptionist was very professional, and breakfast was acceptable, but the decor is outdated. Standard room #114 had no windows. The pillows were very rough, and the queen bed was actually two single mattresses pushed together. Some bathroom amenities were missing, and the towels were really floor towels. The coffee shop could use improvement. I’d still recommend the hotel and stay again.
