The rooms are pleasant and kept clean. Staff are professional and easy to reach when needed, and laundry comes back quickly and discreetly. Breakfast is the weak spot. The choices are limited, with only white bread or khabooz and little else to go with the food. The omelette station is far from the dining area, so people often skip it.
I had a good three-day stay. The hotel felt clean and comfortable, and the staff were polite and helpful. Lunch and dinner had tasty food and a nice range of choices. Breakfast was much plainer, mostly kuboos (khubz/bread) and a few curries. A wider selection there would improve things.
It was peaceful, and I was able to relax comfortably. The gym was good enough, but the pool water was very cold and really needs to be warmer. The room was very clean, and room service was up to standard.
Checking out was a frustrating process. Guests have to wait at reception until the hotel team inspects the room and clears it for anything they might have taken. We couldn't leave until that was done. The rooms are old, the service was very poor, and staff didn't seem to look after us. One of the worst experiences we've had in Khobar.
Reception staff were genuinely polite and professional, and lunch and dinner service was pleasant. The rest of my stay at Hotel Massara House Suites was mixed. Breakfast was repeatedly disappointing compared with the other meals. Drinking water was also consistently hard to get, and the pools appeared to be closed every time. They were listed as open from 10 am to 9 pm, but when I asked, staff seemed reluctant to let me in. The water and pool problems affected my stay a lot. Better breakfast and water access would help, and the advertised pool should actually be available.
