Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham Al Khobar

The receptionist was really nice and helped us check in at 12, even though check-in was meant to be at 2. The place itself was quite good, but not great, and there was a strange smell throughout. I tried air freshener, Bkhour, and opening the windows, but none of it helped. Thanks to the staff for helping us.

The location is one of the best, close to the sea, plenty of restaurants and supermarkets, and a square with lots of places to eat. I really liked the hotel. The rooms are large and quiet, with big windows, and some have a sea view. The air conditioning works well, and the service is great. The screens are large, but there are only a few channels and many don’t work. I don’t really care about the TV unless I bring my PlayStation.

I stayed in a two bedroom suite and found it homely and exceptional for a business trip. The rooms are huge, and the kind of stay they offer is excellent. I took a chance despite the negative reviews, and I’m glad I did. Reviews should take the price into account, since giving one star can put others off places like this. The hotel is very old and may be renovated soon. In some places the wallpaper has been stripped, apparently by guests. The shower water pressure was a major drawback. It’s a subsidiary of Ramada, so you can expect good service.

The location near the Cornish was great, and the rooms were good. The furniture was a bit old but clean. One bathroom shower wasn’t working. I asked for a repair, and the technician came at night, but it wasn’t fixed until the next morning, so service was a little slow. The key card for the room stopped working very often. They kept telling me not to leave it with my phone. They should replace the cards.
