There were no beach services, not even umbrellas, towels, or lifeguards. The pool was only for females, with no pool for families. They also wouldn’t let us open umbrellas by the pool because of supposed wind, even though there wasn’t any that day. In the extreme heat, it was uncomfortable for the kids with no shade. There were no evening activities for kids, despite it being Eid holidays. Breakfast was a poor continental meal, and extras cost more. Room service was very slow. They ruined my vacation. I’d planned five nights but cut it down to three.

The tranquil setting by the Arabian Gulf made Iftar feel peaceful, with a real sense of gratitude and unity among colleagues as the sun went down. Sunset Beach Resort on Sunset Boulevard in Al Khobar was a lovely place to step away from the city’s commercial pace during Ramadan. I found the refined atmosphere well suited to a memorable Iftar in 2026, whether talking about the year’s achievements or taking a quiet moment to reflect. The buffet brought together flavors from the sea and sand. It began with premium dates and chilled Ramadan juices, then offered lamb ouzi, Sayadieh fish, and a wide selection of hot and cold Lebanese mezze. The live grilling stations served a variety of succulent meats, and their setting caught the gentle evening breeze. Service had a warm, unobtrusive “Ramadan touch,” keeping attention on the shared meal and the meaning of the month.

The restaurant staff were good, and housekeeping were kind, but the cleanliness and service just aren’t what they used to be. I’ve been coming to Sunset since I was young, and it’s frustrating to see the place decline instead of improve. The reception staff had a poor attitude, and the interactions were unpleasant. The rooms feel outdated, including the supposedly renovated ones that cost more but still fall short of the standard they’re aiming for. They don’t seem to care about customer feedback, which is really disappointing.

Right on the beach, the location was fantastic and so convenient. The service at Sunset Beach Resort was outstanding, and I really enjoyed my stay. Highly recommended. 🌟🏖️👍😊
