Holiday Inn Resort Half Moon Bay

Our two-night villa booking for Eid Al-Adha cost SAR 3,400, but the stay didn’t meet the hotel’s expected standard or the price. The furniture was old and worn, and there was no towel service at the swimming pool, which seems like a basic hotel service. Getting towels for the room was a struggle. Room service ignored us, and we had to call more than 3 times each time. Every employee said no earlier request had been made, and they only handled it after we asked for the employee’s name. On the second day, we asked for an iron and faced the same problem: 3 requests over 3 hours before anyone responded, again after asking for the employee’s name. We were told in the morning there would be Eid activities at 8 PM. When we arrived then, the evening shift said there were no activities and claimed nobody had told us about them. There’s a clear lack of professionalism, poor coordination between reception and customer service, and inconsistent communication between shifts.

The coffee bar has a beautiful scenic view, especially at sunset with a hot coffee. The place itself is nice, but the indoor sports equipment is in poor condition. If you want to enjoy that view, it could be the right choice.

The food was okay, but the service was beyond awful. They didn’t have enough staff, and I had to go to reception to ask someone to come to the restaurant so I could get something packed. It took 30 mins just to pack one item. The biryani was cold, and there was no tartar sauce with the fish and chips.

I came hoping to sit by the sea, but was told there’s a 75 SAR minimum charge. Staff kept repeating it in a way that felt unwelcoming, and the management seemed poorly organized and not customer-friendly. It felt like they were pushing people away instead of making guests comfortable. I wouldn’t recommend it for a relaxed seaside seat.
