Acacia Hotel

The bed was very comfortable, and the staff stayed friendly and tried hard to help throughout. While they got a room ready after check-in, they offered me coffee and dates, which was a nice touch. They also brought bottled water when I asked. But the noise was too much: children ran and screamed in the hall until 4am on the first night, and the next night a man in the room beside mine yelled until very late. I decided to finish my time in Jeddah at another hotel. The room itself was okay, though the shower leaked across the floor and made it a safety hazard. There weren't any towels in the bathroom, so I had to ask staff to bring one. Check-in was another problem. They couldn't find the reservation I'd made with a third-party booking partner, and the front desk manager asked me to cancel it and pay the hotel directly. I hesitated, then agreed, assuming this was to avoid the commission. Only after I cancelled did he tell me they accepted cash or a local Saudi payment method, but not international credit cards. I could have used my card if I'd kept the original booking, so I had to find an ATM late in the evening and withdraw cash. I'd been unsure about staying because I couldn't find online reviews, but gave it a try for two nights so other travelers could hear about my experience. I came away thinking the owners opened or invested in the place without knowing the basics of hospitality. I'd recommend bringing in a General Manager with international tourism experience and setting a quiet-hours policy.
