The updates changed a lot over time. By September 2019, the building was closing: only a handful of long-term residents and staff remained, even the cleaners had left, and people said the owner planned to demolish it, probably to sell the well-located plot. In July, with Umrah visitors away for Hajj, it had become quiet and seemed like a good-value serviced apartment, given the price, covered parking and central location. That was a sharp change from May, when I warned people away because of noisy, rude Umrah visitors from a nearby country. They would knock on every door late at night if they couldn't find a relative's room. Someone banged on my door and tried the handle at about 5:30 in the morning; when I opened it angrily, he responded with attitude. If staying, I suggested avoiding rooms below the fifth floor and leaving if those visitors were in nearby rooms. Parking out front could also leave your car boxed in by a double-parked Umrah bus, so get a card for the underground garage gate. Originally, the price and standard of living felt like good value. It is right on Falastin, with free underground guest parking, though parts of the garage were filthy after the November 2017 rains and flooding. Options included double-bed rooms, two-bedroom suites with kitchens, and two-bedroom suites with a kitchen and lounge; long stays had special rates. Traffic on main Falastin made some noise, but it wasn't too bad. There was no restaurant, salon, spa, gym, pool, convenience store, shuttle or car rental, which helped keep the price low.

There are five floors, with plenty of rooms for both single guests and families. A small cafe offers room service, and the underground parking can fit around 50 cars.

The rooms are fairly spacious, and the furniture is average, nothing bad. Seems satisfying enough for a longer stay.

Bayetak Alzahi deserves praise. I think it's a great hotel and would recommend it.
