The staff were courteous, which is the only reason I’m giving an extra star. I still wouldn’t recommend this hotel. We left well before checkout because we couldn’t wait to get out. The room was filthy: the toilet seat was missing, dust made it hard to breathe, and my brother got a lot of bug bites from one of the beds. The hallway lights flickered, and the elevator seemed like its cable could snap at any moment. We booked for one night, but at check-in the staff said our Booking.com reservation had been cancelled. We’d made it a month earlier, got no notice, and I’d received an email saying payment had been taken from my account. Tired and facing extreme heat outside, we agreed to pay for the room again. The staff kindly let us photograph the cancellation so we could dispute it with Booking.com. The listing also said the hotel was within 3 km of Jeddah airport, but it was 13 km away, as a previous reviewer had mentioned. I wish I’d read the Google reviews before trusting the Booking.com reviews.
