Kenanh Jeddah Hotel

At midnight, after my first review, someone knocked on our door and told us to come to reception. We were asleep, exhausted, leaving for Riyadh the next day, and had our one-year-old with us. It really disturbed us. My husband went down, and the Egyptian man at reception, who said his name was Mohammad, told him to remove the review. He got angry about my writing that we paid 200 per night, because translating it into Arabic showed 200 dollars. I never said dollars. He made that the whole issue and demanded to know why I'd written it. I went down too and shouted that I had the right to review honestly. He said he wasn't asking me to change it, and had knocked because he could change our room if we wanted. I was even more frustrated. Who wakes people in the middle of the night to ask if they'd like another room? He said he didn't know we were asleep. I asked whether he thought I was from America with jet lag and would be awake at midnight, and why he hadn't messaged when he had our number. He had no answer. The hotel itself is old and shabby, despite the misleading pictures, and badly needs renovation. We paid 200 a night, though it doesn't deserve even 100. The flooring is old and scraping off, doors are chipped, and the ancient beds are very uncomfortable. The furniture looks like it's from the 1960s, and the place smells of Dettol, almost like a hospital. I'll add pictures of the broken doors, rusty floor, dated design, and peeling ceiling paint. That's what you get if you visit this rat hole.
