Ramada by Wyndham Continental Jeddah

The hotel was tidy and in a good location, and all the staff were nice. I especially want to thank Mr. Siraj at Vantage restaurant. He's polite, friendly, and has a good attitude. He makes and serves different kinds of omelettes and bull eyes. Kudos for his great work.

Mr. Mazın at reception was so kind, patient, and helpful, and made sure we got our permit for Umrah. The bellboy was friendly too and arranged a taxi for us. We had a good three-day stay in a spacious, clean room, with extensive and tasty breakfast and dinner buffets. The hotel is definitely worth its 3 stars.

The service and location were great, but the hotel feels dated and many of the furnishings and fittings need updating. Our room was either stuffy and hot or ice cold, since there was no way to set the ventilation to a specific temperature. We also had periods with no hot water. Even though we asked for a non-smoking room, smoke smell kept coming in through the connected vents.

Breakfast had limited choices, and other guests were unhappy with the food quality too. One of our colleagues spoke with the cook, Mr. Seeraj, and he did respond to our request, so kudos to him. Housekeeping was another problem during our five-night stay. The room wasn't cleaned daily, and even pressing the housekeeping button brought nobody. When we asked reception, they only straightened the bedding, and the comforter's inner layer had been removed without being changed. They didn't clean small messes, like lotion on the floor. Towels were taken without replacements for me and my companions. After we asked, they hung towels on each of our doorknobs, as if to avoid coming in to clean. The airport pickup was quite an experience too. The driver collected us with eight pieces of luggage but didn't help carry them, and trying to fit everything in the trunk risked damaging our belongings. All three of us sat in the back without air conditioning. When we asked, it worked for ten seconds, stopped for five minutes, then eventually quit altogether. I hope management takes these issues seriously and makes things better for future guests.
