The rooms were large and clean, and there are several places to eat nearby. I’d recommend this for a short stay of 2-3 nights. We had easy check-in and good room service, and Alan from housekeeping regularly checked whether we needed anything. The morning reception staff struggled to communicate in English but managed somehow. There was no hot water in the rooms, restaurant, or swimming pool. It’s now managed by OYO hotels, so hopefully things improve. We were a little worried by the reviews before booking at the last minute, but the reception itself was fine.

I stayed for one night on a business trip this week, and it was the worst hotel I’ve stayed in. The room smelled of cigarettes, the corridors were noisy, and I couldn’t sleep. There was no hot water or hair dryer, and the customer service was bad. Don’t be impressed by the reception photos. OYO manages it, and their customer care was very poor. I won’t book with OYO again.

Seven days here ruined my trip to Jeddah. I checked out early on the last morning because I had things to take care of, and when I asked to leave my bags in the lobby, the man said no. I’d never been told that before. I had to call a local friend to sort it out, and the luggage ended up in the unused cafe. I later found out there is a luggage room, but nobody was managing it. The room wasn’t ready when I arrived at 2pm, so I left my bags and went to lunch. There’s nothing nearby, so you need a car to get around. I saw an underground car park, though parking outside is possible too. That night I found no towel, and the cleaning kit had been left in the room. The room phone wasn’t connected; the bathroom phone was, but there was no directory and calling 0 went nowhere. I went to the counter for a towel, waited 30 minutes, then had to ask again around midnight. Once I finally got one, there was no hot water, even though it was a cold night, about 16 degrees Celsius. The hair dryer didn’t work either. I went to bed with wet hair around 12:30am, exhausted, and then the power went out. I don’t know when it came back. I reported the hot water, power cut, and dryer the next morning, gave my room number, and said I’d be back at night so they could come in and fix them. At about 11pm, nothing had been fixed. The room hadn’t even been tidied despite my pressing the make-up-room sign. I complained again the next morning; another receptionist said she’d check and make sure it was cleaned. That night it had been tidied, but the towel was missing again and no water had been left. I went to the lobby for a towel once more and waited 30 minutes. Then I was told the hotel didn’t have enough towels and wouldn’t leave one unless we told the concierge we needed it. That’s very weird. I complained for five straight days and got two days of excuses about the hot water and the hair dryer needing repair. One honest woman told me they didn’t even have an in-house technician, and that someone would come whenever they came. That explained a lot. I asked if I could use the swimming pool, hoping for a hot shower in that area, but was told it was broken. The hotel also had no working restaurant or cafe. All the best to anyone staying there.

The room interior looked nice, but it wasn’t worth the stay. There were no towels or hot water, and the phone didn’t work, so you have to go downstairs whenever you need anything. A very bad experience.

There was no working phone in the room, so I had to go down to reception for anything. The room had only one table lamp and no other lights, and it smelled bad. There was no hot water, and the design was poor. The receptionist in the morning wore sunglasses and a hat at the desk, and the staff seemed strange. It felt like living in a cave. The worst stay of my life.
