The room was clean and good at first, but getting it cleaned afterward was a struggle. We called reception for two days, were told they would do it, and waited. In the end, we changed the towels ourselves using the service cart. The hotel is conveniently just behind Clock Tower. We booked a three-bed room based on a picture showing a proper room with three beds. Instead, they took the side tables out of a two-bed room and added a third bed, leaving us cramped like in a cell. We kept asking to move rooms, but staff delayed us, saying they’d see in the evening, then in the morning, and so on. Management needs to improve and shouldn’t show one room type at booking then provide something different.

I had a view of the Grand Mosque, and the room itself was nice and tidy. The prayer room, dining room, and lobby were all well kept and pleasant. Service was the letdown. I asked for towels five times, by phone and in person at reception, but got none. In the end, I had to get them from a cleaning worker who was making rounds.

Prestige Hotel’s location near Masjidil Haram was the one thing that made it worthwhile. The slow check-in and service below what I expected left the rest of the experience short of the standard I’d hoped for. The room boy changed the amenities, towels, and water, but left the bed cover unchanged. For the price, I don’t think the rest was worth it.

We loved staying here and would come again. Breakfast was included and had plenty to choose from, and both the dinner buffet and menu options were fantastic. Front desk and support staff were professional, friendly, and quick to help. For Umrah or Hajj, being close to the Kabbah matters since it means less walking between your hotel and the Haram area. Prestige hotel is a straight 1 km walk to the haram, and the elevators are fast. Even with crowds, it took 10-15 minutes at most.

Housekeeping did a good job, but the hospitality really upset me. I’ve worked in a hotel before, so this bothered me a lot. Even the three-star hotel we stayed at in Madinah was way better than this so-called five-star place. The food wasn’t very good, and we weren’t allowed to take food or drinks out of the restaurant or bring outside food in. Even our family member who was ill and couldn’t walk to the bathroom was forced to go downstairs to the restaurant to eat. The water heater was broken too. I asked about it twice and was ignored.
