Ajyad CROM Hotel

Our twin room was tight, roughly 12 by 15, plus the bathroom. The shower had no boundary, so it was all one room; I used plastic bags as shown to keep the splash down. There was no warm water, and no iron in the building. For an iron, turn left after leaving and go to the Laundromat, where it costs 5riyal per thobe. For the Haram, turning left and taking the stairs down puts you near al massa hotel, while the road up and down is harder than your umrah. The TV had about 20 channels, which we only browsed once since we were doing umrahs. The fridge worked well, and although there's no microwave oven, they down have the tea kettle that warms itself. The thermostat worked really well and was in Celcius, and the beds were comfortable.

I spent time there and have just come back. The hotel sits on top of a hill, and getting to haram pak takes a good 15-minute walk. One side has about 100 stairs and a strong bad smell from other hotel toilets; the other route is a hill and slope, so it's hard to walk. It isn't suitable for older people. Don't believe people who say it's close to haram pak and good. The room felt like a box, and the washroom was so dirty I didn't want to go in. The old-style shower didn't work properly, and water got all over the toilet area. It took hours to dry, so the next person couldn't use the toilet or shower for a good while. Wi-Fi didn't work except perhaps at reception, and the hotel and room size were poor. They showed no respect, couldn't speak English, and didn't listen to what I was trying to explain. They put you on hold until they can find someone who speaks English. A Salam to everyone going to the beautiful holly place in mecca.

The rooms are spacious and adequate, but getting to the hotel is difficult. It's on a mountain, with a flight of stairs leading down to the Haram.

The hotel has a nice atmosphere, and I loved staying there. Getting to it is difficult because you have to climb a flight of stairs, but I'd stay again and recommend it.
