We were glad to be near Kaaba and the shopping centers, but the place really needs a refresh. The furniture is dated, even the pictures on the wall were crooked, and the beds weren’t comfortable. Breakfast was mediocre. There was black mold in our bathroom, and the sink leaked.

You can get a taxi outside the hotel at any hour, and parking is easy to find, though it’s paid. Masjid Alharam is about a 10-15 minute walk away. My experience was good and the staff were cooperative. There’s a Google Maps issue: it sends you to the back of the hotel on the wrong road. If you’re using it, pin the road in front of the hotel first, then start directions. Also, they give only one room key regardless of how many people are staying.

We paid for an executive suite with two bedrooms and six beds, but got a 30 sq foot room with barely any space. The rooms are undersized, the bathroom is grimy, the bedsheets were dirty, and there were cockroaches. There was confusion and denial about the booking, and the concierge was horrible. It was overpriced, too. The location looks walkable on a map, but it takes 15 minutes just to see the haram. I’d pay a little more or stay farther away to get a better place.

The room was comfortable and clean, with a fridge and hot and cold running water. Towels and bathroom amenities were replaced when we asked. We had three key cards, which made it easy for everyone to come and go. The lifts were a bit slow but always working. It’s about 1 km from Masjad Al Haram, slightly uphill, and takes around 10-15 minutes to walk there. The Wi-Fi was slow, credit cards aren’t accepted, and the hotel restaurant only serves Turkish food.

The rent was reasonable for what the hotel offers, and the rooms were nice and larger than a typical hotel room. The lifts were numerous and fast, and cleanliness was okay. Water temperature was fine, though we didn’t have towels or bathroom shoes in the room. Room amenities could use improvement. At least a kettle or microwave oven would be useful. Wi-Fi worked on the ground floor but not in the upper rooms. There’s a mess where you can buy lunch or dinner, but meals aren’t included with every booking. Masjid Alharam is about 800 meters away and walkable, though the continuous uphill walk back to the hotel can be tiring after Umrah. For the reasonable rent and proximity to Haram, it’s a good option for Umrah pilgrims.
