Jabal Omar Marriott Hotel, Makkah

The food was a hit with us, especially with the kids, who were thrilled by the unlimited ice cream. Asad, the restaurant manager, was really kind and helpful. The staff were helpful too, and almost everyone spoke English, which made things easier. The hotel is in a very good location and has a shuttle to Haram 24/7.

After a long morning of Ibadah in Haram, it was lovely to relax over delicious food. Breakfast had a good selection, and the atmosphere was friendly. Hilda from Indonesia and Nina, the breakfast manager, were always smiling and greeted guests warmly. Alhamdulillah, my family and I were happy with the service and the easy access to Al Haram. I’d recommend it to friends or family going for umroh, and Insha Allah we’ll come back.

The hotel is quiet and avoids the noise, crowds, and chaos of staying in a clock tower hotel, while the 24/7 shuttle bus makes getting to the Haram easy. We never had to walk or wait. The team were professional, kind, and hospitable, and kept checking how our stay was going. They even helped arrange a private shuttle to Jeddah airport. We stayed five nights for Umrah in December. The location can’t be beat, everything was clean, and the beds were very comfortable. The prayer room on the third floor is well attended for anyone who can’t make it to Haram for prayer. There are about three friendly resident cats just around the hotel corner, so consider bringing cat food if you stay here. I’d recommend Jabal Omar Marriot to anyone considering Umrah but worried about crowds.

The rooms felt very old, and one of ours had plumbing problems on the first day. I wasn’t a fan of that. But the cleaning staff, servers, and breakfast were great. Asad and the team do a really good job with the daily buffet. The cleaners were excellent too, especially shaon, though I’m not sure that’s the exact spelling.
