The servers were the one bright spot. When reception refused a late checkout, one of them arranged it for us, which I appreciated. The room itself was clean and came with tea, coffee, water, and a small fridge, but our triple room was small. The toilet was the worst part: loose taps, no warm water or pressure, and no glass around the shower, so the whole bathroom got wet. We paid a high room rate because it was Ramadan. We also had a hard time communicating. The receptionist spoke only Arabic, not English, and was rude and unwilling to understand us, so we had to use gestures. At first they couldn’t find our reservation. When they did, they assigned us a room that already had guests in it. The server opened the door without knowing, then apologized. Transport to the haram cost 20 SAR on the first day and 30 SAR on the return. The next day it was 30 SAR to go and 100 SAR coming back, which felt illegal on so many levels. I wouldn’t recommend a long stay. For one night, it’s your choice.

Our room was clean and had tea, coffee, water, and a small fridge, but the triple room felt cramped. The bathroom was the main problem: the taps were loose, the water wasn’t warm and had no pressure, and without protective glass by the shower, water covered the whole floor. The room price was high because of Ramadan. Reception couldn’t find our reservation at first. Once they did, they gave us a room that already had guests inside, and the server opened the door by mistake before apologizing. Communication was difficult since the receptionist spoke Arabic only, not English, and was rude and didn’t try to understand us. We had to use gestures. The ride to the haram cost 20 SAR on our first day, then 30 SAR back. The next day we paid 30 SAR to go and 100 SAR to return, which seems illegal on so many levels. I wouldn’t recommend staying long. For one night, it’s your choice. The one positive was that a server got us a late checkout after reception had said no, and I appreciated that.

It’s on top of a hill and quite far from Al Haram mosque. If you’re a senior with leg or knee problems, you’ll need to hire a cab to get to the mosque.

Guests are left to manage on their own, and the bed covers aren’t changed when they’re due.
