voco Makkah by IHG

The quiet hotel, helpful staff, and reliable buses to the Haram made the stay easier. Rooms and bathrooms were clean, and the hotel shops had a good range at prices better than those near the Haram. The room itself was nice, though the iron was poor and there was no place to pray or eat with a large family sharing a twin room. Outlets were limited too: only Type A, with none near the bed or Type C. The hotel feels isolated from restaurants and other amenities, although the complex has shops and supermarkets. For the price, it was a good option.

The buffet had lots of tasty choices, and the whole hotel felt clean and modern. Everything worked as it should, thanks to a great team and top quality service. Yassin, the chef, was especially kind and helpful. Many thanks to the voco team for making our stay in Mecca so good.

The location was convenient for visitors, and the service was excellent. Staff were attentive and kind throughout my stay at Voco Hotel in Mecca. The hotel was comfortable, clean, and well managed. I would definitely recommend it.

The bus station situation was chaotic and unsafe. We were told it was dedicated to our hotel and brought us close to the Haram, but it serves all the hotels. People are locked inside even after buses arrive, then everyone is pushed through one small gate. The crowd gets huge, some people jump the gates, and accidents can happen. The bus drivers were rude, shouting at us and refusing to open the doors, while staff shouted at taxi drivers to leave, making it hard to find another option. The shuttle sometimes stops running two hours before prayer and tells us to walk. Is that normal? I wouldn't recommend this hotel.
