Afaq Silver Hotel

The rooms were clean and looked after, and the hotel is near the Haram with reasonable, modest prices. I had a good stay, and I think it deserves at least three stars.

There are plenty of shops nearby, including a grocery store and two Pakistani restaurants. The building itself seems renovated, though the surrounding area feels a little run down, with narrow streets. It's at the end of the street, so you don't have to cross the main road, and Masjid An Nabawi is about a 10-15 minute walk away. The rooms are decent, if a bit cramped for eating since there's no table, and the bathroom was neat and acceptable. The staff don't speak English, which is expected in KSA. Masha Allah, for the price and location, this hotel is in a nice middle ground: affordable without being too far away.

My stay was good overall, but one of the reception staff needs to work on his attitude. Customers should be treated with respect. There was no phone number to call, and the room service phone was out of order. 👍

We paid £100 a day after booking through booking.com, and it didn't feel worth it. The room was dirty, and the location was inconvenient. Noise was constant: the shop downstairs started calling out to people before dawn, and the elevators were loud too, so getting any sleep was difficult. I wouldn't recommend it.
