Al Sham 4 Hotel

It's a simple, reasonably priced hotel, about a 15-minute walk from Masjid.e.nabawi. The restaurant is simple too, but very neat, and the food is tasty. Rooms are average; the bathtubs weren't cleaned well and had stains. Towels, tissues, and room spray weren't there at check-in, though they were provided later when requested. There's no complimentary electric kettle or tea and coffee sachets. Okay, I'd give it only three stars.

The laundry service was good, at 4 riyal per clothing item, and the hotel is close to haram. There’s a restaurant, though I didn’t try it. The room had towels and toiletries, plus a refrigerator, but no iron or kettle. It had no window or view, but it was soundproof, so I didn’t hear anything from the construction site behind it. There was a damp carpet smell when we first arrived, though it faded over time. The air conditioning worked well at first, but they may have switched it off because of the cold. I’d stay here again.

The rooms need a renovation. The building itself was fine, but the people running the hotel were lazy and not up to the mark. The carpets and bed sheets were old and worn, and the rooms were small, with five or six single beds in each. Basement parking was available in limited numbers, but there was an extra charge.

Hot and cold water were always available, and the AC was centralized. Beyond that, there wasn’t much to like. The TV didn’t work, the washroom faucets were broken, and there was no daily cleaning. Four single beds made the room feel small, there was no locker, and I couldn’t call reception.
